I owe my early awareness of Marfa to Donald Judd & The Chinati Foundation. But there are so many artists at work and play here, it's hard to single any one out-- the town itself is essentially a sprawling outdoor installation site with works cropping up in the most unlikely of places. I continue to return for the art and the idyll and the inspiration I find in those wide-open horizons. Spend even a day there, you'll understand the allure; and if you're lucky, you too will fall prey to its charms...
